Team building cooking classes: A new way to bond

Our corporate cooking classes are a delicious, interactive way for remote teams to bond together in Johannesburg.

We’ve worked with finance, mining, media, and energy companies, and our classes are perfect for team leaders and HR managers looking to improve team morale.

"Thank you so much for a successful team building event, Lee. A beautiful setting (absolute jaw dropping garden placement) and the cultivation of fond memories that I'll treasure forever."
Starr S Myburgh
Executive Assistant to CIO | Standard Bank

Why try a team building cooking class?

With remote work creating disparate teams, new team members may feel unwelcome, and stress and high pressure may affect team morale.

Finding a fun and effective team building activity can be tough. That’s why we offer something unique that your team will love.

Happy client: Standard Bank

In December 2023, we had the pleasure of hosting team-building cooking classes for over five distinct departments, each with a minimum group size of 15 participants from the Standard Bank Group.

It’s gratifying to note that Standard Bank has become one of our most frequent and valued clients.

The recurring theme for these sessions has often been the delightful “South African Savors” menu.

The teams have thoroughly relished the experience of outdoor cooking sessions in our garden, adding an extra layer of joy to each gathering. We look forward to many more culinary adventures with our esteemed Standard Bank clients!

"Many many thanks for hosting our year-end function last night. I received a lot of compliments from the team, and everyone really enjoyed themselves. I will be referring you to our Ortho-Xact business unit, which wants to use you for a booking in January or February 2024. Again, thank you and your two chefs, brilliant team!"

Happy client: Mastercard

During their December visit last year, the Mastercard team delved into a team-building cooking class.

Opting for the deluxe package, they embraced the “Taste of Thai” menu, bringing together participants from different continents to explore diverse flavors and draw parallels between culinary experiences and the dynamics of change in the corporate world.

We appreciate the Mastercard team for their enthusiastic participation.

Custom-made for every diet

Dietary requirements can be a concern for some teams. Luckily, we’ve got you covered.

We customize our menus to your team’s dietary needs and restrictions, including halaal and vegetarian options. We also make provisions for non-drinkers.

For specific packages, you also receive a copy of the recipes you make!

Happy client: Samancor

In their October visit, Samancor’s legal department immersed themselves in a small yet lively team-building cooking class.

Filled with undercover comedians, the group explored the flavors of Moroccan cuisine, selecting our popular deluxe package for an engaging experience that took them on a culinary journey around the African continent.

Kudos to the legal department at Samancor for bringing joy and zest to their past team-building adventure!
"I just wanted to thank you and Chef Naledi for the awesome day. It was really fun, and the food was delicious! It was a great way to bond over food, and the team enjoyed it. They were so excited to learn something new and would love to make some of the dishes for their families, Thanks again!"

Happy client: Black Crown

In December 2023, Black Crown organized a cooking class as part of their competition, tasking us with crafting a three-course meal perfectly paired with their gin variants – Black Crown Gin and Tonic and Black Crown Gin and Lemon with Marula.

Celebrating African excellence, they opted for the Basic package, featuring a menu heavily influenced by Ethiopia, South Africa, and Morocco.

We extend our appreciation to Capacity Marketing for their assistance in coordinating this event.

"The cooking experience really added value to the colleagues in terms of time out as a team but also teamwork, having fun, and breaking bread thereafter. The music selection and the wine pairing were fantastic. This session allowed us to discover some hidden talents in the kitchen that we did not know about. Great day spent with the Good Food Studio team!"
